Today we’d like to introduce you to Elise Brill.

Elise, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I always had a fascination with faces. Started with photography and translated into Film Studies at Columbia College. I worked in Film Production eventually specializing in Casting. From there I took all I learned from working on set to makeup application. I love the connection of how outer beauty effects inner beauty and vice versa. I try my best to facilitate that with each client. I have a makeup studio with my own makeup line in Northbrook. Clients know that when they come to my studio this is a different experience than going to a makeup counter. I set aside an hour for each appointment. I have the best quality products at below department store prices. I meet with clients everyday who are looking for anything from a new lipstick to a “new look.” Clients also come to me to have their makeup applied professionally for headshots, social media, photo shoots, promotional videos, dating websites and their special life events: wedding, promotions, speaking events….

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I can’t imagine building any business would be a smooth road. The obstacles have only helped me grow my business. One client at a time.

Please tell us about Leesi B Cosmetics.
I specialize in airbrushed makeup application and lash application. I know what sets me apart from going to a department store and purchasing makeup- I will spend an hour with a client and she can purchase nothing or as much as she wants. I never push my clients to purchase more than they are comfortable with. I keep a computer record of all their purchases. My clients know that if they run out of any product they can call me/email/text me and I will mail it out to them, or they can pick it up… I pride myself on taking care of each client, one client at a time. My clients also love to come to my studio with a group of friends and get new makeup together or learn the latest makeup tips.

My products are the same you will find in many department stores, just in different packaging at a more reasonable price. I offer FREE gifts with purchase several times a year. Shipping is always FREE on orders of $50 or more. I also have an online store with all my products. I LOVE my clients, and I know they appreciate the no pressure sales when they step into my studio.

I also go on location for makeup application for weddings, photo shoots and private events. Along with providing an exceptional makeup application, my discretion, loyalty and privacy is my code.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would not have waited 2 years thinking about it. I always say the thinking too much about something can set you back- you should try what you dream about it, if it does not work out you never walk away without a lesson learned.
